Latest Show News
Just a little note to give
you all the "heads
up" on what is happening in the world of flight
sim. I would like to draw your attention to our
new website and the video that is on the front
page. This runs for about six minutes and features
a simulated flight that I made from Bristol Filton
EGTG to Bristol International EGGD. It shows not
only VoxATC X UK in action but also TrackIR 4,
Track Clip Pro and also FSX with Generation X scenery.
This is flown using my flight sim setup which includes
a Matrox Triple Head 2 Go and 3 X 19" NEC
90 GX2 Screens. Go to the home page and take a
look. You might also like to checkout a simulator
video on youtube, take a look by clicking here.
Just a little update on The FSX
Party to be held just across the road from us at
the Beeches Hotel, details of which are on the
front page of our website.
I hope to have my 3
screen system shown in the video, running with
TrackIR and Clip, Go-Flight and VoxATC X etc and
will be pleased to chat to friends new and old
and answer any questions that you may have.
The
exhibition will be attended by Bill Trezise ( Copy
Cat Controls) the designer of MRVC and Ranger 5S
helicopter controls. Bill expects to have his complete
Spitfire simulator working and also a Hanglider
framework especially developed for flight simulation.
Bill will have his professional simmers "Captains
Seat" for you to try.
One of the highlights of the party will be the
first public showing of Black Shark by Eagle Dynamics.
This long awaited simulator is a state of the art,
military quality simulation of the Russian KA50
Hokum attack helicopter, and you will see it first
in Bristol !!!
Paul Fryer from Alpine Systems
will be demonstrating high end computers, custom
built for flight simulation. You will be able to
see Matrox Triple Head 2 Go, Digital, and ask him
questions about any and all aspects of computer
hardware.
Frazer Tweedy of FT Leisure said " This
year I plan to have some Westland Wessex helicopter
controls interfaced to a PC to show what can be
done with a little imagination!!
Flight 1 Software will be showing
their latest releases including Ultimate Terrain
USA, SF-260 X, MD80, Ultimate Traffic and much
much more.
Just Flight will have on show,
VFR Real Scenery Volume 3, Traffic X, Rescue Pilot-Mission
Pack and 737 Pilot in Command.

Ireland will be in attendance to say hello to their
members and recruit new ones, they publish a really
good magazine, which members receive.

3rd Sunday in the month at Downend and will be
pleased to talk about their aims and activities.
Saitek, the Bristol based joystick
and controller maker will be showing their brand
new yoke, pedals and modular Pro Flight Instrument
panels. The new yoke and throttle is a very high
quality set of controls and visitor will be immediately
impressed with the functionality and realistic
feel. In the original design phase, Saitek canvassed
opinion from a number of experienced "real" pilots
and some of the new features reflect their views.
It is the same with the pedals, rather than having
a simple spring feel, their movement is in fact,
damped. Try them for yourself at the show and make
up your own mind about them !
